Answer

Gave my prepared answer and at the same time tried to be impromptu, had a smile the whole time I was answering and I addressed both the panel members.

Tips/Suggestions

1.Stay calm during the process. Always be enthusiastic. Be happy and energetic.Keep a smile on your face from start to end.
2. They are not expecting a well defined answer consisting of every detail, so whatever you answer, be confident, use presence of mind and be ready for cross questions or follow -up questions from your answers so be mindful of what you say.
3. Try to be im promptu, don’t seem like you have already prepared the answer and you just keep speaking. Try to think in between and then answer, this will seem spontaneous.
4. Number of entries in a GD doesn’t matter everytime. Even if you get only 1 or 2 entries, try to give value in those entries. Give heavy points which remain with the moderators till your PI and they might ask you to detail it so be aware of what you said.
5. Include the 5 principles of Mars as much as you can in your answers and talk about their in itiatives that show that you have read about them and you are eager to join them.
6. Try to connect your answers using “like I mentioned earlier” don’t deviate from your own answers.
7. Show a ready to learn attitude, I am here to learn and I am willing an d eager.
8. Use presence of mind, common sense, and be the smart person in the room.
9. If they have come for a petcare role then show your love for animals and likewise.
10. Drive the interview as you are having a conversation with the panelists and not answering their questions.
11. Make sure you answer all the questions and answer them smartly. This will leave a good impression.

Overall Process Experience

✗The process was very smooth and the interviewers were pretty helpful. They were very chill, smiled in between, and made us feel comfortable. They aren’t looking for a solution but more of a structure of how to arrive at the conclusion. Therefore, please fo llow a structured approach. The interview can be grilling at times but its just to check how you answer under -pressure.

So as you mentioned about your pet, what do you feed him?

So as you mentioned that you feed your dog home cooked food, don’t you think you shouldn’t do that? (they were not so direct, I don’t remember the exact words)

So Alex, the solution which you put forth in the GD, we liked it, would you please elaborate your solution or add anything more to it if you want to?

Asked some cross questions from my solution and tried to correct me where I was wrong or what a company cannot do.

Why Mars?

As you mentioned you want to be part of such homeless animals initiatives, tell us something you have done for such pets.

I can see that you are a member of the alumni relations committee, tell me one thing which is not functional in the committee as of now but you would want it to be there.
